Orono High School Basketball

The Orono High School Red Riots boys basketball team had a strong 2024-2025 season. Finishing with a overall record of 13-7. Entering the season as a tqo-time defending Class B state champions, they aimed for a historic third consecutive title. The riots opened the season with a 6-1 run, including wins over Mount Desert Island (56-46) and Washington Academy (72-45). Going into the playoffs the Riots had a massive target on their back since they have been the defending champs for two years now. In the first round they Handley Eliminated Hermon with a 60-43 win. In the second round the had a close game with their river rivals Old Town, but managed to pull out with a 54-51 win. Sadley that is where The Riots journey ends where they were eliminated in the semifinals by Caribou who speaked out a 41-40 win against the Riots.

Orono High School Baseball

The Orono High School Red Riots boys basketball team have had a strong 2025 season so far. With a record of 2-2 and place at sixth in the league they will be looking to make their playoff push in a couple weeks. Kason Bagley has been Orono's star player this year with an incredible batting average of 0.667 and leading the team in stolen bases (5), runs (7), hits (8), slugging percentage (1.000) and doubles (4). The Riots just had a statement win last week against the Golden Bucks blowing them out 11-2 and are looking to roll into their next game with momentum.
